A Little About Annette

I've always been awed, calmed or inspired by the beauty around me but it’s only been since Christmas of 2006 that I’ve tried to convey that wonder through painting.

My husband had the idea to surprise me with a beginners painting CD, paints, and a few brushes. With that and a lot of encouragement I took on this new hobby. As usual, his intuition was right and I’ve since found this activity to bring me tremendous joy.

Occasionally I paint from imagination but most often I take my inspiration from photographs.  The ones I enjoy the most come from family, friends, and co-workers.  It’s sometimes an irresistible challenge to interpret in oil what I see or feel from a photo or a life experience. I can entirely forget myself. It’s very much like becoming totally absorbed in a compelling story.
